About NOGMC.

WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF HARMONY

Founded in 1982, The New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus provides a positive, performance-based community for gay, transgender, and bisexual men and their allies in our state and region. NOGMC fosters talent, fellowship, pride, and understanding through excellence in vocal music.

Our History

1982

Jerry Zachary brought 28 Men together with the idea to bring harmony to the greater New Orleans Area and the New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus was founded.

Founding

1983

First Major Performance

Performed as founding members of the first GALA festival at Lincoln Center.

2005

Expanded to Baton Rouge

First time holding rehearsals in Baton Rouge. We have been performing there ever since, primarily at the Unitarian Church.

2023

Where We are Now

Still going strong with over 100 performances under our belt and 25 members strong.
